Opposite is the huge Zeppelin hangar, home to the Zeppelin shipyard and Zeppelin shipping company as well as the take-off and landing site for modern Zeppelins. Don\u2019t forget to visit the castle, including its defences and dungeon. It wasn\u2019t just real knights who once lived here. The pile-dwelling museum there houses archaeological finds and currently 23 replicas of pile dwellings from the Stone and Bronze Ages. The former imperial city is characterised by a well-preserved medieval town centre with a cathedral, town hall and fortifications, including the Gothic Franciscan gate from the 12th and 13th centuries. For example, we recommend a leisurely evening stroll along Langenargen's waterfront promenade, right on our doorstep, through the floral splendour of the waterfront park past the harbour and over to Langenargen Castle Park.
